In recent weeks, Guangzhou Public Transport Group has achieved a string of successes on the world’s top international stages: winning a major industry association award, appearing as the only Chinese bus operator at London Climate Action Week, and taking an active part in the global initiatives of The Earthshot Prize. Winning a Sector Award, Leading the Decarbonisation Drive. As the most influential authority in global public transport, the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) has long championed green and smart mobility. The Group’s Guangzhou Public Transport Electrification Project stood out among numerous domestic and international entries, leveraging city?wide electrification scale and full?life?cycle emission reductions to earn the 2026 UITP Award for Excellence in Climate Impact and Decarbonisation. This honour confirms Guangzhou’s leading position in electric and intelligent bus operations, while offering a quantifiable and replicable model for fleet clean?up worldwide.

Taking the Global Stage, Sharing China’s Solutions. During London Climate Action Week, the Group was invited to a UN Secretary?General special session, where it showcased, as China’s sole bus representative, the country’s solid progress in energy transition and green operations. At the same time, at an impact forum co?hosted by The Earthshot Prize and Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Group systematically presented Guangzhou’s decade?long electric bus evolution and its innovative use of digital intelligence in emission reduction – providing practical references for cities of different sizes grappling with the twin challenges of cutting carbon and sustaining growth.
